Introducing Orion Herbs’ Fieldwork Grant

As citizens of the world, we take, we consume, we use. There comes a time when we must give back. We are the greatest consumers of the world’s resources and it is our social and moral responsibility to restore and atone through causes that will make the world better…
Orion Herbs is committed to giving back to the community from which we draw the components of our products. We believe that it is important that all citizens and consumers of the world play a role in replacing that which we consume. This is vital to ensure future availability of natural resources for the existing and future generations. Consequently, we have pledged to donate 5% of all website sales to fund the Orion Herbs Fieldwork Grant. This grant will benefit students studying at the  Abess Center for Ecosystem Science & Policy at the University of Miami. Our goal is to help students from underserved populations fulfill their goals of travel and fieldwork.
We chose this project because of the respect we have for the science and studies of environmental preservation and cultivation. Without these, we would lack the abundance of herbs needed to cure and prevent illnesses. This effort is an investment in educating likeminded human capital who share the respect we have and recognize the vital importance of sustaining the world’s resources and environmental products. These are the mainstay of the natural healing products we sell and a philosophy that reveres clean, natural and healthy living.

We invite customers to play a part in this worthy cause by purchasing our products online. With each sale, karma points (do good, receive good), will be earned and accumulated. The idea is that “do-gooders” (people who are socially conscious and want to give back to the community and environment), can do so

through each purchase made on our online store.  Karma points will be tracked so customers will be able to assess their contribution to the grant. When thresholds are met, these customers will receive special discounts on products and exclusive merchandise such as custom Orion Herbs t-shirts and bumper stickers, available only through the successful accumulation of points.

Substantial work is yet to be done in educating the wider population about the field of alternative medicine. Sadly, much of the world exploits the earth’s natural resources for profit or livelihood and place little focus on restoration and preservation. In addition, there is rampant ignorance about the power of nature and its potential to promote good health. By participating in this effort, Orion Herbs customers will collectively contribute to educating ambitious and well thinking students who will pursue their educational goals and careers to rebuild, sustain and preserve the environment. It is our vision also that these recipients will join us in educating the world about the benefits of preservation.
